Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
1. Scope and Information
This policy describes information handled when you use gamepadtest.app. Information you provide directly may include support messages or feedback. Ordinary website data may include your browser and operating system, IP address, pages visited, approximate visit times, referrer, and performance or error information.
The contact form opens a draft in your configured email application. The website does not submit that form to an application server; any message you send is handled by your email provider and ours.
The tester also reads browser-provided controller descriptors, axes, button states, timestamps, capabilities, and optional WebHID reports when you explicitly grant device access. Controller samples are processed inside your browser tab.
2. Browser-Local Diagnostic Data
Controller input samples are not intentionally sent to or stored by our application servers. The tester may retain up to 50 versioned diagnostic-history summaries and user-confirmed semantic input profiles in this browser's local storage. History can include the controller label, date and time, result, session identifier, and draft or final state.
A saved profile is associated with a browser-visible descriptor signature. It is not represented as a unique physical-device identity, and identical controller models may share a descriptor. Local data remains until you clear it, reset the relevant profile in the tester, clear this site's browser data, or the browser removes it. Exported reports are files you choose to retain.
Standard vibration and experimental Sony WebHID output commands are sent only after a user action to a supported, selected or explicitly associated device. Those commands are not used to identify a controller or determine hardware health.
Diagnostic data stored in this browser
These controls remove only Gamepad Test App diagnostic history or saved semantic input profiles. They do not clear cookies or storage belonging to analytics, advertising, or other websites.
3. How Information Is Used
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the website and controller tester.
- Respond to support requests and feedback.
- Understand site usage and diagnose technical failures.
- Manage advertising, measure performance, and comply with legal obligations.
To measure whether core features are useful, Google Analytics may receive the aggregate action names controller_connected, diagnostic_started, diagnostic_completed, report_exported, and guide_cta_clicked. An export event includes only the file format, and an internal guide-link event includes only the destination path. We do not include the controller descriptor, button or axis values, diagnostic outcome, health score, mapping, session identifier, or exported report content in these custom events.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The site and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and scripts for essential functionality, preferences, analytics, security, publisher services, and advertising. Available consent or opt-out controls may vary by location and provider.
5. Service Providers and Advertising
Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, and security services. Google Analytics may process website usage information. Grow, Journey by Mediavine, Mediavine-related advertising partners, Google, and other authorized advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to provide, personalize, measure, and secure advertising where enabled.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Advertising vendors may use information about visits to this and other websites for ad selection and measurement. You can review Google's advertising controls at My Ad Center and industry choices at AboutAds.
6. Sharing and Legal Disclosures
Information may be disclosed to service providers that operate the website, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, with your direction, or as part of a business transfer. We do not control how independent third-party services handle information under their own policies.
7. Retention and Security
Browser-local diagnostic data follows the retention behavior described above. Other information is retained only as reasonably needed for its purpose, security, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS, but no internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You can also use browser controls to remove cookies and site data. Contact us to submit a request; we may need to verify it.
9. International Processing
Website and advertising providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Applicable providers are responsible for using legally required transfer safeguards for their processing.
10. Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the site.
11. Changes and Contact
We may revise this policy and will update the date above when changes are posted. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@gamepadtest.app with the subject "Privacy Policy Inquiry."
